I have tried to install and shelled on line on my windows 2000 machine. It installs OK but when I try to run it I get an error message that says, Cannot find import; DLL may be missing, corrupt, or wrong version File "WS2_32.dll", function "getaddinfo" (error 0)
I installed the game on my windows xp machine and it runs just fine!
So.... can the game simply not work on windows 2000 or is there a fix for this??
Tnx - oldbobcat

I'll post reviews of Shelled! Online as I find them. Post any I may miss!

The first review of Shelled is out!

Quote:Overall, Shelled! Online is a fun tactical action game that strikes a good balance between turn-based planning and real-time chaos. It does take some practice to learn how far the shells fly at certain power levels, but after a while you’ll get the hang of it. Making a difficult shot is a rewarding feeling, whether it’s against human opponents or the AI. All of the issues I have with Shelled! Online are minor at best, as the game is quite solid as a whole.

Don’t be fooled by the comparatively simple 3-D presentation: there’s an addictive action game contained in Shelled! Online. It takes the best aspects of Scorched Earth and adds in a 3-D environment, tons of weapons, and methodical real-time gameplay. Gamers who enjoy fast-paced games won’t like Shelled! Online, but I do enjoy the tense limited movement and physics-based mechanics. I think if the game looked more like a AAA title, then more people would be drawn to its infectious gameplay. There are a handful of small improvements that could be made to polish up the game, but the title is good enough to be quite enjoyable.

Out of Eight PC Game Reviews
Score: 6/8 (Buy it if you like the genre)

OK I have literally just purchased Shelled! Online after trying the demo and I have to say I am really, really impressed. It reminds me of an old game I used to play on the Sega Saturn called Deathtank Zwei which was and still us one of my all time favourite multiplayer games to play with friends. To me this seems like a 3D version of that and it's about bloody time someone made a decent remake.

Anyway what I would like to say is thanks. I noticed that this is compatible with a Xbox 360 controller so will Shelled! Online ever be gracing Microsoft's console?

I mean it would widen your audience and you already have the control scheme down. I know Microsoft can be hard task masters from what I herd when it comes to porting stuff to there XBLA service but I reckon this would be a hit on that console. I think this is because the only other game that's like Shelled! Online on the Xbox 360 is Worms but Shelled! Online has some nice features making it different and more enjoyable than Worms on the Xbox 360.

Anyway I am off to go play some more now, laters! :)
